**Editor's Note: Statement updated at 5pm (Tuesday 17 January 2023)**
At about 7am on Friday (13 January 2023), NSW Ports was informed that a train had derailed in the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) rail yard at Botany.
ARTC advised that the derailment occurred as two trains were being shunted into the yard.
There were no reports of any injuries.
Rail lines adjacent to the derailment were repaired and cleared on Friday afternoon, enabling trains to move in and out of the port.
Recovery works and track repairs commenced over the weekend and were completed today (Tuesday, 17 January 2023).
ARTC advised that rail services are fully restored.
All other port operations have continued during this period.
