On 16th November Permaculture Partners’ Celebration Event was held at Warrawong Public School. All participating schools were represented, including Warrawong High School, Lake Heights Primary, Cringila Primary School, Port Kembla Primary School and Five Islands Secondary College.
Our support helps to deliver the ‘Living Classroom’ program. The permaculture facilitator is shared between schools and works directly with classroom teachers and students, teaching them how to construct ‘living classroom’ environments where organic food is grown, cared for, harvested, cooked and consumed by students. Activities include the building of sites, buying of plants, development of soils, rotation of crops and harvesting practices. The aim is to build capacity of the teaching staff and make the program sustainable.
